If you are trading as a partnership, you should put in place a partnership agreement, or members’ agreement if structured as an LLP. If you are operating as a limited company, issues within your Articles of Association are important to consider as well as a shareholders’ agreement to govern relationships outside of those Articles where there is more than one owner.
All businesses should consider their trading terms to assist with any credit disputes or service issues, and of course any business with employees needs to comply with Employment legislation and have contracts/statements of terms of employment in place.
And that, of course, is not the end of areas where legal assistance is important.
Right from the outset a business needs legal assistance. We have in-house skills that can support you, but we are not lawyers so we regularly work with a number of locally based firms to provide the key drafting and advisory/support work that is needed.
We are able to work with you to achieve the required results and protect the business and its owners from legislation as well as possible future problems created by lack of clear agreements.
