All companies are required to submit a Corporation Tax Return CT600 online to HMRC every year. Two tax returns are required if your accounting period exceeds 365 days – together with a copy of your full accounts.
HMRC Compliant Corporation Tax Returns
Your Accounts have to be filed in iXBRL format, a version of the HTML language used for web pages. These include electronic “tags” added to the accounts so the HMRC computer system can read the accounts electronically.
Where we prepare your company accounts, we will also produce this copy of the accounts for filing with HMRC as part of our annual compliance service.
Shortcut to the right documents
There are strict penalties for filing late corporation tax returns. Interest is charged on tax paid late, so it is important that the deadlines are adhered to. These deadlines are determined by your company’s annual accounting date.
We will also prepare any additional CT600 pages required, for example, for charities and loans to directors.
Companies wishing to claim Research & Development or Creative Industries tax credits must submit additional documents with their tax returns. We will help them to assess their claims and prepare the necessary calculations.
We can help all organisations
Burton Sweet can also assist charities, clubs and associations, property management companies, community benefit societies and any other types of organisation that may be required to submit Corporation Tax Returns.
If HMRC issue you a company tax return, you must complete it and submit it to them online.
