Ed qualified as a Chartered Accountant with a Big Four audit practice, and has extensive and varied experience and a thorough knowledge of the sector. He joined Burton Sweet in 2007.
He loves working with charities and civil society organisations!
Ed holds the respected ICAEW Diploma in Charity Accounting having gained this qualification by demonstrating to the ICAEW his experience and ability in dealing with complex issues around accounting, reporting, tax, governance, fundraising and external scrutiny.
In a personal capacity, he is a Trustee and active volunteer with four local charities, including a large group of churches, a charity seeking to mobilise people to care for their local communities and a charity engaged in the financial support of overseas orphans and widows. Ed is a voluntary senior leader and the Treasurer of Woodlands Group of Churches alongside his part time role at Burton Sweet.
Ed is a regular speaker at charity training events, including being keynote speaker at a recent series of charity finance and governance events and webinars for the Certified Institute of Management Accountants.
Ed works with the team to provide technical input and support as well as offering a range of training and consultancy services to the charity sector.
He is a Tour de France fanatic and a cycling nut!
