How can trustees and senior spiritual leaders work together more effectively to support their churches and faith charities?
That question is at the heart of Faith Charities in Focus 2027 on Saturday 30 January 2027 at Woodlands Church in Clifton, Bristol.
This year’s theme, Keeping Unity – Exploring the Partnership of Leaders and Trustees, will bring together people involved in church and faith charity leadership to share experiences, explore challenges, and discover practical ways to strengthen governance and working relationships.
Why Attend Faith Charities in Focus 2027?
Churches and faith charities depend on teamwork to fulfil their purpose. However, trustees and senior spiritual leaders have different but complementary responsibilities. Understanding how these roles interact is essential to effective leadership.
The conference will explore how to:
- Understand the respective responsibilities of trustees and senior spiritual leaders.
- Make effective decisions about money, people, volunteers and buildings.
- Navigate the overlap between spiritual leadership and legal governance.
- Build trust, manage disagreements constructively and work towards a shared purpose.
Drawing on Romans 12:1–5 and its vision of a unified body, FCIF 2027 combines practical guidance with opportunities to reflect on individual experiences and challenges.
Learn From Experienced Speakers
The programme includes contributions from experienced professionals in charity governance, church leadership and the wider faith charity sector. We are also pleased to welcome perspectives from the Charity Commission for England and Wales.
Presentations, a keynote address and a panel discussion offer opportunities to explore good practice, ask questions and discover useful resources. Alongside the discussions and presentations, attendees can talk with organisations that support churches and faith charities.
Whether you are a trustee, church leader, chief executive or senior staff member, it’s a great opportunity to explore ideas and strengthen collaboration.
